2012 The Hyundai-Veloster

Well, this here example is the European spec Veloster and it was caught undisguised by our spies in Germany ahead of its debut at the at the Geneva Salon in the beginning of March.

The 3.8L V6 is the engine upgrade, and produces two hundred sixty-three horsepower and two hundred fifty-seven pound feet of torque. These figures compare to two hundred thirty-four horsepower and two hundred twenty-six pound feet of torque for the base 3.3L V6. The city fuel economy rating for the 3.8L V6 is seventeen mile per versus eighteen miles per gallon for the 3.3L V6. The highway rating for the 3.8L V6 is twenty-six miles per gallon, which is the same fuel economy rating in highway driving as the 3.3L V6.

2011 Hyundai Equus

Hyundai, the company that makes those cheap little runabouts, is building a big luxury sedan with dreams of slaying German and Japanese standard-bearers. This sounds familiar.
But it’s not 2008 anymore, and we aren’t talking about the Hyundai Genesis. No, we’re talking about the new 2011 Hyundai Equus, an even bigger and more luxurious sedan aimed not at the everyday E-Classes and 5 Series, but at the mighty S-Class and Lexus LS.
You’ll be forgiven for confusing the Genesis’ and Equus’ stories. After all, the playbook hasn’t changed at all. Both are large luxury sedans with the same V-8 engine driving the same automatic transmission and rear wheels. They also share the strategy that has made Hyundai a powerhouse in the market: more content for less money.
The expected base price of roughly $60,000 includes a list of standard features is as long as your arm, and covers all the uber-luxury standards. In fact, to get the same level of content on a Lexus LS 460, which starts just six thousand dollars higher, you’d have to tack on $10,000 in options. With the Equus, if you can name it, it comes standard. But there’s a catch: no options.
To keep build complexity down and the value proposition up, Hyundai’s kept things simple. There are only two models, Signature and Ultimate. The only difference is that the latter is geared more toward chauffeured rear-seat passengers. There is only one set of wheels: 19-inch chrome fare wrapped in wide Continental all-season tires. If you buy an Equus, the kitchen sink is included in the base price. BMW and Mercedes-Benz can’t say that, nor can comparatively low-priced Lexus.
There’s no arguing that Hyundai can go toe-to-toe with segment leaders on features and content, and they can screw it together just as well, too. Fit and finish easily meet segment standards, as does materials quality. Noise/vibration/harshness is the make-or-break point for this car, which is why 75 percent of the Equus’ frame is made from high-strength steel and every porthole save the rear window is filled with thick, acoustic glass. The result is a cathedral-quiet interior, though there is a fair amount of tire noise.

2012 The Hyundai-Veloster

South Korea's largest automaker is on a definite roll these days, especially in North America. Despite a U.S. vehicle market that's still in recovery mode, Hyundai sales were up by sizeable double-digit percentages in the first four months of 2010, putting the brand sixth in both car and light-truck sales, behind Nissan. This surge reflects Hyundai's traditional value-for-money reputation, but also a steady stream of impressive new products such as the Genesis large sedan--a 2010 Consumer Guide Best Buy--the Ford Mustang-fighting Genesis Coupe, a redesigned 2010 Tucson compact SUV, and an all-new 2011 Sonata midsize sedan. Even older models like the Accent subcompact car and Elantra compact car are holding their own sales-wise, and will soon get their own total makeovers.

The company has done consistently well in New York with a great number of cars being rolled out from its dealer stores every day. Also, in that aspect, Hyundai's Genesis has made considerably great business in New York. A decade ago, the vehicle giant sure made a very positive impact on the nation as a whole when they pioneered with their 'Hyundai Assurance' concept. The concept includes 24/7 Roadside Assistance and America's Best Warranty. The services have been extended all through 2010. They also have special car purchase schemes concerning the recent economic scenario also. “We wanted the Curb to be urban tough without looking like a Brink's truck,” said Jason Brown, Hyundai designer. City driving was going to be its forte, not crossing the Rubicon trail, but we wanted it to have urban armor for daily driving on city streets. It needed to empower its passengers in this setting.”

The future of Hyundai Motors seems very bright in New York. This is an easy guess, given the company's great business in this U.S state in the current times, when the world is recovering from an economic slowdown. Hyundai had expanded its wings in New York long back and the mass popularity of the Hyundai vehicles in the state makes it a big time winner in the car market of the state. No wonder, there are plenty of Hyundai dealers scattered across the state and no matter which part of NY you go, you will never be too far from a Hyundai dealership store.

2010 Hyundai Genesis Sports Car Coupe with SHIFTRONIC to handle the additional torque

2010 Hyundai Genesis Sports Car Coupe with SHIFTRONIC to handle the additional torque

2010 Hyundai Genesis Sports Car Coupe

The people at South Korean automaker Hyundai are listening to their customers. The 2010 Hyundai Genesis Coupe, confirmed for production and a release early in 2009, follows the tradition of the 2009 Hyundai Genesis in offering a true high performance rear wheel drive, sporty architecture in an affordable package. The 2010 Genesis Coupe is a purpose-built rear-wheel drive sports coupe featuring two performance-focused engines - a212-horsepower 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine and a range-topping all-aluminum 306-horsepower, DOHC 3.8-liter V6 engine.

2010 Hyundai Genesis Sports Car Coupe

Genesis Coupe employs a MacPherson strut dual-link front suspension and a five-link rear suspension setup. Both engines are mated to a standard six-speed manual transmission. The Genesis Coupe 2.0t (2.0-liter 4-cylinder turbo) offers an optional five-speed automatic with SHIFTRONIC® while the 3.8-liter V6 offers a ZF six-speed automatic transmission with SHIFTRONIC to handle the additional torque.
The Genesis Coupe follows the styling tradition set forth by the Hyundai Tiburon, but outdoes that aging Hyundai compact sports car in every way. The Genesis Coupe comes with an available naturally aspirated V6, sure to be a motor to find its way into more of Hyundai's lineup. The high output engine offers 310 horses on premium fuel. Following the introduction earlier this year of the rear-wheel drive Genesis sport sedan, Hyundai Genesis Coupe is Hyundai's most dynamic performance car ever and the second consecutive all-new model introduction from Hyundai appealing directly to the car enthusiast.

2010 Hyundai Genesis Sports Car Coupe

Hyundai Genesis Coupe uses the same flexible rear-wheel drive architecture originally developed for the Genesis sport sedan.
The 2010 Hyundai Genesis Coupe offers Xenon high-intensity discharge (HID) headlights. The advantages of HID headlamps include greater lighting power, daylight-type lighting and reduced power consumption. In addition, the cut lines of the new HID headlights are extremely precise, providing maximum nighttime visibility without distracting other drivers.
All Hyundai Genesis Coupe models feature standard four-channel ABS with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) to optimize brake performance under various dynamic loading conditions. The system also includes Brake Assist, which provides maximum ABS-level braking force when a panic stop is detected.

2010 Hyundai Genesis Sports Car Coupe

It is nice to see that Hyundai, an automaker currently enjoying growth and a solid reputation for producing mainstream-market cars that last, is making steps toward the sports car market. The styling of the Genesis Coupe is hit or miss, some will love it and others will wonder what Hyundai was thinking. But, with the sports car pedigree to back it up, the Genesis Coupe should be another worldwide hit for Hyundai.

2010 Hyundai Genesis Sports Car Coupe

The Hyundai Genesis Coupe is offered in three trim levels: the stylish and affordable GS, the premium-sport GT featuring the 3.8-liter V6, and the high-performance SE, available with either the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine or the 3.8-liter V6 engine.

SEMA 2010: Hyundai Genesis Coupe

The Hyundai Genesis Coupe is a tuner favorite at SEMA. GogoGear showed off its racing Genesis Coupe, while ARK Performance has created a performance Genesis Coupe more appropriate for cruising the Vegas Strip. There's even a bit of overlap between the two, as GogoGear's entry uses a carbon fiber bodykit, headers, shocks and coilovers from ARK Performance. Getting the rest of the coupe ready for kerbs are the upgraded V6 churning out 380 horsepower, carbon fiber roof, 18-inch Konig Kilogram lightweight wheels and a Racepak IQ3 data logger dash.

ARK Performance went street with a carbon grille, hood and rear diffuser, with ARK SFX bumpers, skirts and fenders. Stoptech brakes scrub the speed, and Alpine, Apple and Infinity provide the audiovisual buffet in the cabin. JsDesigns can be thanked for the little guy on the hood, and his rear is warmed by the heat of a supercharged 3.8-liter, 585-hp engine with 330 pound-feet and dual headers and downpipes.Source URL: https://automotivetrendnews.blogspot.com/search/label/Hyundai

All new 2011 Sonata can also be driven in all electric mode. Hyundai says that the Sonata Hybrid can cruise on all-electric at speed of up to 62 mph, and company's engineer indicated that the car might do even better. Hyundai did this by converting its 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine to the Atkinson Cycle and added a 40-horsepower electric motor, which is good for a combined 206 horsepower and 193 pound-feet of torque, but the main thing is the car's battery pack.

After a 2008 introduction, the Hyundai i20 is back at the Paris Motor Show but this time it's got a bit of an attitude. Hyundai has teamed up with Brabus to create the i20 Sport Edition. So far the only details released involve the appearance changes. The front skirt and wheel arches take on an angrier appearance while Yokohama rubber gets wrapped around a set of 17-inch Brabus alloy wheels. The black mesh looks good next to the black bezel around the headlights, as well as the added LED daytime running strips.

While the outside sports that subtly-cool hot-hatch look, the inside looks it was "designed" by the Great Pumpkin after a night spent throwing one too many back. Though the orange-black paint scheme is a little much, the sporty Recaro seats, leather-lined surfaces and seven-inch touchscreen are welcome additions.

We're still waiting to hear what is powering the Hyundai i20 Sport Edition, but with Brabus involved we can only hope for the best. The car will enter production during the first half of 2011, and it will be released as a limited-edition model, available in both three and five-door versionsSource URL: https://automotivetrendnews.blogspot.com/search/label/Hyundai

Paris 2010: 2011 Hyundai ix20 is neat, nifty, compact

    2011 Hyundai ix20

Hyundai's fluidic design language makes a little car quite handsome, and the ix20 MPV at the Paris Motor Show is the latest to benefit from the rhinoplasty. To our American eyes, it's a tiny piece of kit to be called an MPV, but the market for European B-segment people-carriers is robust.

Aimed at Continental families, the wheels pushed out to the corners provides a pleasantly roomy interior for a car with its dimensions. Four powerplants can be placed under the hood, two gas engines and two oil-burners ranging from 75 to 122 horsepower. Hyundai has also found room for plenty of safety features, with ESP, ABS, and Hill Start Assist making the list of standard kit.

Hyundai is hoping any further worries will be allayed by the five-year, unlimited mile warranty, and wants to sell 55,000 units of the ix20 annually.Source URL: https://automotivetrendnews.blogspot.com/search/label/Hyundai

Hyundai ix-onic Concept, 2009

    Hyundai ix-onic Concept, 2009

The designed to assertive but not aggressive, the Hyundai ix-onic Concept (pronounced "ik-sonnik") combines dynamic styling with an environmentally-friendly power train and thoughtful everyday utility. It creates a vehicle that will change the way consumers think about compact crossover vehicles.
With an overall length of 4,400mm, the 1,850mm-wide and 1,650mm-high Hyundai ix-onic Concept has an imposing stance and road presence but takes up little more space on the road than a C-segment hatchback.

The Key attributes of Hyundai's 'dynamic sculpture' design philosophy are the athleticism and sophistication that ix-onic demonstrates through its dynamic and flowing lines. These are emphasised by specially developed, high-contrast exterior paint. Employing an advanced-effect pigment, the innovative paint gives the car's skin a brilliant shine.

The hexagonal grille is a further evolution of the style introduced on the 2006 Genus concept car and developed for its appearance on the Hyundai i-mode concept in 2008. The headlamps feature innovative LED daytime running lights which move down electrically whenever the 'dipped beam' is switched on.

The profile of Hyundai ix-onic Concept features a dynamic glass line and a sports car-like theme with a muscular, double-zigzag treatment for the wheel arches that wrap around the 21-inch polished alloy wheels. Unusually, the concave sills have a wedge-shaped profile which extends rearwards and wraps around into the rear bumper. The sills and bumper are finished in a contrasting colour, with an aluminium garnish that echoes the trim in the door handles to enhance the perception of premium quality.

With high-mounted tail lamps, multi-surfaced glass and a sculpted bumper, the rear of Hyundai ix-onic Concept also incorporates 'dynamic design' elements. The rear lamp clusters feature a grille mesh inspired by nature, while the rear bumper also neatly incorporates the dual, polished aluminium exhaust tailpipes.

The rear window has been designed and produced by Hyundai in close cooperation with the QarmaQ-partner SABIC Innovative Plastics. Using Lexan high-performance plastics instead of conventional glass enabled the designers to give the rear window a much more three-dimensional shape. On each side of the rear window two vertical spoilers are integrated to reduce aerodynamic drag. The upper part of the window features a strongly concave shape to make it possible to integrate the roof spoiler in the rear window.

The Inside, the five-seater Hyundai ix-onic Concept offers a commanding view of the road and evokes an adventurous ambience that is also laid-back and relaxing.

An X-shaped visual theme is repeated across numerous areas of the cabin, with embossed leather to accentuate key areas while light-alloy magnesium accents provide flashes of visual brilliance. The sleek shapes of the interior are outlined with 'ice blue' seams that replicate the colour of both the ribbed ice blue floor carpet, which contains a high percentage of natural cashmere wool, and the exterior.

Shapely seats feature centre panels trimmed in breathable fabric with attractive and functional cushion side bolsters, plus additional lateral support for occupants' shoulders - all trimmed in contrasting magnesium grey.

The mounted much higher than usual in the doors, the audio speakers present occupants with a true and highly detailed, top-quality sound reproduction. The interior rear-view mirror has a 'blind spot' warning light that alerts the driver to other road users in close proximity.

The Beneath its sensational exterior, the Hyundai ix-onic Concept's power train is equipped with a 170PS, 1.6-litre GDi turbocharged, four-cylinder petrol engine, with ISG (Idle Stop & Go) technology and a double-clutch six-speed transmission. Power is transferred to the road by an intelligent four-wheel drive system fine-tuned to deliver outstanding on-road driving dynamics, together with significant off-road ability. The next-generation, eco-friendly engine emits just 149 g/km of CO2, an impressive figure for an SUV and comparable with conventional hatchbacks and superminis.

Hyundai Blue-Will Concept, 2009

    Hyundai Blue-Will Concept, 2009

The Hyundai has revealed the first pictures of an innovative plug-in hybrid Hyundai Blue-Will Concept car. It has exceptionally advanced technology crammed inside its striking bodyshell.

The Recycled PET soft drink bottles were used to make the material for the headlamp bezels while use has also been made of bio-plastics: PLA for the interior while PA11 was specified for the engine cover. These materials are made from plants extract rather than fossil fuels and are bio-degradable.

The Hyundai Blue-Will Concept is powered by an all-aluminium Gasoline Direct Injected 1.6-litre engine which is coupled to a Continuously Variable Transmission and a 100kw electric motor which is at the heart of Hyundai's parallel hybrid drive architecture.

The Electric power, stored by a Lithium Ion Polymer battery pack, is neatly bundled with the fuel tank under the rear seat to maximise luggage space.

The Hyundai will be the first automaker in the world to apply Lithium Ion Polymer in a mass production vehicle.

A further expression of the concept's design flexibility is found on the panoramic roof. The glass area integrates dye-sensitized solar cells which can generate power for the batteries from the sun without impeding visibility.
